Merry Christmas

  • Mood: Mellow
  • Music: Silent Night
On behalf of Sace and myself, I'd like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. I'd also like to thank everyone who has taken an interest in NOM this year. Upwards and onwards... I plan to post throughout the festive period since I have lots to tell you about NOM and my trips to Egypt and Prague (Caught the flu on my return and have been feeling too shitty to post). Once again, thanks for all your support and have a wonderful Christmas time.

Winter Sun

I'm off to top up my freckles on Monday. To Egypt to be precise. This very exciting for me because I've not been on holiday for years although I'm a little nervous too. Despite what some people might think, I'm not used to doing nothing for a whole week so I'm not quite sure what to do or what not to do. I know I'll get eBay withdrawl. I'll miss wee Warner too. I"ve got two days to decide what books to take with me. Any suggestions? It's a tough life though because when I come back I've got loads to squeeze into two days before I head off to Prague for a short break. Hopefully I'll get a chance to post from far off shores. Keep in touch y'all. Over an Doubt, joe.

Half Jaked

I've just returned from Castle Lachlan half jaked. If you're from Lanarkshire you'll know what that means. Time to blow my own trumpet. I've started recording some new songs and I have to say they're great. Not good. Great. It's big of me to say this but I only speak my mind. What's the point if you don't have the faith? Anyway, I'm off to bed now. I will post in the morning. My mood might change. Who cares. Over an Doubt, joe.

Soon

We have been promised finished copies of our album 20/11/04 for limited UK release. The release date is as yet undecided but copies will go on sale in Glasgow and online very soon. Good news I think. Sorry I've been a little quiet of late but I've been busy preparing my studio for some new recordings which I hope to complete in a very short space of time with the help of a few friends. As soon as I'm ready to start, I plan to keep a day-to-day diary of studio events online. This will either be very interesting or not. Does anyone else like Top Gear? Over an Doubt, joe.

Movement And Good Fortune

It's funny how life throws up little twists and turns especially when you least expect it. Just to put you in the picture, I live in the middle of nowhere which is not the kind of place you'd expect to bump into someone you know and haven't seen for years. Guess what happened to me last night? I bumped into someone I haven't seen for years. This little ditty may seem rather boring to you now but when, like me, you've spent the last few days thinking about musicians to work with on new material and then they just swan in to the local pub, it becomes a better than boring story. I'll not go into any more detail at the moment. I should also have some exciting news of movement in the camp by the end of the week. Over an doubt, joe.

Urban Myth

I'd like to dis-spell an urban myth. I've never really been a big fan of the Beach Boys. Admittedly, they've had their moments (Dennis especially) and I can see why so many people drool over their music but a simple fella like me will happily take Love, The Stones and Curtis Mayfield any day. I like stuff with plenty of soul AND plenty of balls. That's what floats my boat. So, what's the scoop with this Smile album then? Can anyone tempt me to go out and buy it? Give it your best shot. I will not, however, hold my breath. Over and out, joe.

Natter

Had a good long natter with Sace yesterday about our future plans to release the NOM album in the UK. We are hoping to do this very soon and obviously that means we will be playing some shows too. As I said in a previous entry, we've had a few rehersals and the stuff promises to be great. I'm glad the record is out in Germany and hopefully it will do well like it deserves to. But now we're itching to get it out over here and get out there and play some shows. This is our mission. We will succeed. Promise. Over and out, joe.
